Our newest passion has taken on a life of it’s own…Climb on!

Central Rock Gym

When it comes to rock climbing, Western Massachusetts has some very nice crags. Farley, Mormon Hollow, Rose Ledges, and Chapel Ledges to name a few. We spent the summer introducing ourselves to these and other top spots in the area. We met some great fellow rock lovers and fell in love with ease of accessibility and the variety of routes available. But what is a climbing junkie to do when it rains? Or when you can’t make it out to one of the local ledges? Central Rock Gym in Hadley Ma has the answer.

We  have so much more to share beyond our extreme activities.. So we added a Gemini Life Surfers blog and a Gemini Life Surfers website to the world wide web.  We will talk about other aspects of our life and adventures such as tiny house living, bus life, the simple life, homeschooling, family life, going green, sustainability, the rat race (and leaving it), inspirational quotes, original thoughts, and much more.

Summer Daze

Yesterday was another perfect summer day in the North East. Hot and humid followed by a severe thunderstorm to cool us down before the moon graced the sky.  We are in a small town close to Saratoga, NY… It is complete with rolling hills and greenery as far as the eye can see.

We settled in, relaxed, showered and prepared to have dinner with our good friend.  After enjoying our leisurely dinner of local chicken, sautéed vegetables and fresh salad we took to the outdoors. The rain brought refreshment to the air and a softness in the yard. The soaked grass didn’t stop the kids from go karting their hearts out, lap after lap. From ages 6 to 13 they all loved it!

Today is the 4th of July and we will see what that has in store for us. Will we head North or stay around this area for one more day?  For sure we will be planning our next adventures… Daydreaming about rock climbing, skydiving and race car driving!

Vegetable oil from food to fuel

We desire to add a veggie oil system to our customized school bus. It is important for us that the process is completed with the utmost of professionalism…. We don’t want to risk mucking up our fuel system.  Research and lots of question asking will lead us to the right set-up, but I wonder who will be our magic maker.  What a wonderful idea to use a waste product for fuel. Ideally we could come up with something even more sustainable.  Any ideas?

Firefly

Firefly

Lighting bugs, light bugs, ground stars at night, whatever you want to call them…they are summer; they are the light we ponder as adults and the magical light we want to capture as children. Sitting here thankful we are home, back in New England…Playing bocce ball and watching the world cup in Amherst, then dinner on a farm in Vermont. Seeing our loved ones and breathing in the fresh air moment by moment. What a wonderful weekend.

Thursday to Tuesday …the new weekend! This gypsy life is something to think about indeed. The deeper threads of conversation dipped into the rat race, the state of society, wealth distribution and the never-ending saga of bills that come along with all of that. These topics will be raised again, but for now the bottom line is so many of our friends have had enough!!
