Life Surfing 101 (rock climbing)

DCIM106GOPRO

Well,  if you want to live life to the fullest then you want to play it safe when it comes to rock climbing! And for one thing that means not climbing in a shady area after a pounding night of rain. So we explored the Green Mountain National Forest a bit then headed down to Western Mass. for a secret spot in the deep woods… For our first solo top roping climb!

We played around for a bit, with different equipment and knots… No matter how confident we felt,  before we went too high we tested and observed the anchors, the rope, and the elements.  The slab was a little wet still so we took it easy. Feeling good about putting up a safe top roping climb for ourselves. Doing some more research on the climb, then off to bed. More to come tomorrow 🙂

Sedona, oh how we love you!

Sedona, where to start?

Sedona is one of the most amazing places we have found while traveling the US. Natural beauty abounds, adventures around every corner, great food and spectacular lodging. We were lucky enough to try our hand at off-road “jeeping” on the rocks, and horseback riding. We spent our spare time hiking, hanging out at our amazing A-frame cabin, and exploring the local shops and eateries.

Planning our next expedition across the USA

 our bus July

Exciting times here… Starting to plan our trip back out into the wild blue yonder. It has been wonderful being back home, friends, family, sun and fun. But as the middle of July is upon us, and the first leaves are changing we are gearing up to head west again.

We will have a map of the journey soon.  We learned from our last trip that life on the road brings many surprises and unknown turns in the road… So, we are open to shifts in our plans. However mapping out our route and adventures along the way is a must.

Do you have a suggestion of a place we should go, or an adventure we shouldn’t miss? Please let us know.  We would love to know the coolest place in your neck of the woods or a place you would love to travel to.

Zip awayyyyy!

Zip Away Action

This was one of the most fun adventures so far… Sailing 600 ft. in the air on a very thin wire, well at least it felt thin. 😉

This was taken at Hunter Mt. in New York. The guys here are really professional, and would recommend them any day! I have to say this was the second time we did this adventure and it was just as thrilling and epic the second time around.

What adventures are on your bucket list?
