Playing in the cave

Playing in the cave

Just hanging around the gym 😉

We have absolutely become one with climbing! Central Rock Gym in Hadley, Ma is one of our favorite spots to strength train and practice our moves. It’s going to be such a blast to get back out West and try our new skills after so much Western Ma climbing this summer and fall. We will still be doing other adventures, including hot air ballooning, learning to surf, indoor skydiving, rafting, and many more extreme family adventures !!

Climb on friends!

Our newest passion has taken on a life of it’s own…Climb on!

Central Rock Gym

When it comes to rock climbing, Western Massachusetts has some very nice crags. Farley, Mormon Hollow, Rose Ledges, and Chapel Ledges to name a few. We spent the summer introducing ourselves to these and other top spots in the area. We met some great fellow rock lovers and fell in love with ease of accessibility and the variety of routes available. But what is a climbing junkie to do when it rains? Or when you can’t make it out to one of the local ledges? Central Rock Gym in Hadley Ma has the answer.

Check out the rest of our story at the Extreme Bucket List 🙂

And then some more… Rock Climbing that is :)

So, the kids are back and we were finally able to take them out on the rocks….What an amazing family adventure. Full of triumph, team work, positive reinforcement and gorgeous problems to solve.   We went to Rose Ledge in Northfield, MA. There was time for a couple of different routes, but this was the favorite… Tree Flake, depending on the start was a 5.6 or 5.7. Nice, solid climb.

We also find climbing where we can when it’s too dark or the weather isn’t suitable for our ropes… 🙂 Next climb we need to take them to the gym. Central Rock Gym here we come!

Sedona, oh how we love you!

Sedona, where to start?

Sedona is one of the most amazing places we have found while traveling the US. Natural beauty abounds, adventures around every corner, great food and spectacular lodging. We were lucky enough to try our hand at off-road “jeeping” on the rocks, and horseback riding. We spent our spare time hiking, hanging out at our amazing A-frame cabin, and exploring the local shops and eateries.

Zip awayyyyy!

Zip Away Action

This was one of the most fun adventures so far… Sailing 600 ft. in the air on a very thin wire, well at least it felt thin. 😉

This was taken at Hunter Mt. in New York. The guys here are really professional, and would recommend them any day! I have to say this was the second time we did this adventure and it was just as thrilling and epic the second time around.

What adventures are on your bucket list?

🙂

We have launched our new site and blog… Come check us out

We  have so much more to share beyond our extreme activities.. So we added a Gemini Life Surfers blog and a Gemini Life Surfers website to the world wide web.  We will talk about other aspects of our life and adventures such as tiny house living, bus life, the simple life, homeschooling, family life, going green, sustainability, the rat race (and leaving it), inspirational quotes, original thoughts, and much more.

Summer Daze

Yesterday was another perfect summer day in the North East. Hot and humid followed by a severe thunderstorm to cool us down before the moon graced the sky.  We are in a small town close to Saratoga, NY… It is complete with rolling hills and greenery as far as the eye can see.

We settled in, relaxed, showered and prepared to have dinner with our good friend.  After enjoying our leisurely dinner of local chicken, sautéed vegetables and fresh salad we took to the outdoors. The rain brought refreshment to the air and a softness in the yard. The soaked grass didn’t stop the kids from go karting their hearts out, lap after lap. From ages 6 to 13 they all loved it!

Today is the 4th of July and we will see what that has in store for us. Will we head North or stay around this area for one more day?  For sure we will be planning our next adventures… Daydreaming about rock climbing, skydiving and race car driving!

We’ve Arrived… In Texas!

We've Arrived... In Texas!

We started out of the Great North East to the warmer winds of Eastern Texas, 27hours and 1,600 miles, taking turns at the wheel… And we have finally made it out of the land of frozen nights!
